We open our mouths to isolate the movement, like when people stick part of their tongue out when they are doing something hard. It also helps to open our eyes larger, but not everyone does it. I can get mascara on just fine with my mouth closed.

Keeping your mouth open while applying mascara, helps minimize the blinking for better application.

It tightens the area around the eyes and opens the eye lids more...

i suggest a good primer (lancome). a hot lash curler (use a dryer) and a good mascara for best lashes ever (bad gal by benifit)

i don't know, but its really funny. i never realized that i did it until my boyfriend pointed it out to me. but it seems to keep me from blinking. i also open my eyes really big. i must look ridiculous. i think its just another one of our female quirks.
