I think it's about equal. Every fat person who likes cake started out as a thin person who liked cake.

Actually, I am fat and I don't really like cake. And to the person who say fat people indulge more than thin, that is also a misconception. Not all people who are obese are like that. Like myself, I try to watch what I eat and get as much exercise that I can but I still have a lot of trouble losing the weight that I want to. Some people also have medical problems that prevent them from burning off the weight.

I can answer this with confidence, having been both fat and thin in my time. I liked cake more during skinny periods than fat periods because I didn't suffer from that overwhelming feeling of guilt which took the edge off my enjoyment as a fat person worrying about being able to squeeze into my straight skirts and my jeans.

But I can also say from experience that taste buds change with age irrespective of girth. The younger you are, the more you tend to like sweet things. As you tend to get fatter as you grow older, then you'd probably find statistically that the average fat person likes cake less!

The only really thin woman I know eats fruit, veg and tuna. She will occasionally have a slice of chocolate cake. At present she says she will be cutting down on food ready for the Christmas lunch.

So there you have it, to get thin eat fruit, veg and tuna, but nothing else!

I'm fat. I like cake, but I don't eat it very often. I have a very skinny friend who never gains weight. He can eat anything and stay thin.

So I don't think so.

If they are carb addicts as a lot of overweight people are, than they will crave carbs in the form of something - chocolate, cookies etc, with cake being one of the common ones, and therefore it will appear that they do like it more than 'thin' people.

I noticed you have three thumbs down for this question. I wonder why? I have been through thin and fat stages in my life and I've loved cake and chocolate at all stages.

sometimes i'm fat sometimes i'm thin, but i always like cake!

it's weird tho, if you look in m & s deli quick queue at lunchtime, the thin people have great big sarnies, full of mayonaisse and bacon, huge cakes and sugary drinks.

the fat people have diet sarnies and fruit.

do the latter stash packets of biscuits and cakes in their cupboards, to fill up on later???
