A couple of washes with a good bilogical powder should do it, and give it a good airing outside if possible. If the oil stains are stubborn try a pre wash soak that is made to deal with stains.
I wouldn't use any sprays on it (such as Febreze) coz there is no proof they they are safe when used on something like a crib which the baby will be in very close contact with over an extended period of time. Better to be safe than have a poorly baby.

Bleach it. dilute to 1 tsp per 2 cups of water. Then after that, take vinegar and water diluted to half and half. Wipe all over and rinse with water. Then leave it to air out. I wouldn't use air fresheners or anything like that. If you want a pretty smell take a little lavendar ( you can get it at most health food stores and some grocers). Put it on a cloth and wipe when it has dried after cleaning. It will have a lovely scent that is calming and safe for babies.

If it's the mattress that has an odor, the easiest thing might be to re-cover it with something that will 'seal in" the odor, like vinyl or thin plastic. Many crib mattresses are made with laminated fabric, or people put a waterproof fitted sheet on them, so it's a normal surface for a baby to sleep on. You might want to use a mattress pad under the crib sheet to make it more comfy.

Be carefull here!
Use an Amway product called L.O.C.
or any other Organic cleanser only.
Hes going to be chewing on it, so dont use anything you would'nt feel ok about putting into his mouth!!!
Or just leave it alone, he might like it better if it smelled like
Dad. Maby he'll become a better mechanic if you leave it.

first I would make a bucket of hot soapy bleach water and wash every surface and then put it in the sun and let the fresh air do its own magic.
