Can't talk for all my fellow Canadians but for me:
I love beer because:
1) It's dirt cheap at my corner store
2) It's available in powerful formats (4% to 10.1%)
3) It's available in various formats (bottles, cans, kegs, cases, and my favorite: the 1.18 liter glass bottle!)
4) It's like cough syrup; tastes awful but works wonders!
5) It prevents me from going on a homocidal binge!
6) It helps me try to ignore my lousy and loud neighbours, Mr. EarthQuake and his construction crew.
7) It helps me relax when I have to endure my neighbours.
8) It helps to keep me warm when my wife's not around!
9) It honours my ancestry to drink beer.
10) At least it's not like wine; wine is for snotty people who like to imagine they are educated and cultured, when in fact they're just trying to emulate other cultures by imitating them!
OK so that last point (#10) was totally free and useless, but I felt the need to say it; Quebecers who drink wine all seem to think they're hip and cool because they are trying to imitate the Frenchies from France... Ooohh... Big efing deal!
So in the immortal words of Buffy The Vampire Slayer:
".... Beer GOOD!..."

It goes well with all the hockey and curling they watch. I have to admit, I enjoy Canadian brew. Labbats is good stuff.
