For me it was my easiest! I have 3 kids and the first one was 23 hours of labor includes 2 hours for pushing. My second one was a little quicker, only just 10 hours with 45 mins for pushing. My last one was only 5 hours with 15 mins of pushing, but who knows my next one could be worse!! It depends how long since the last baby and the whole pregnancy! Like you said each one is different. Good luck either way!!

I'm pregnant with my third also. I hear it's supposed to get easier. Labors should be shorter because your cervix and your body are already used to it by now so to speak. I think that if it's your first or you tenth kid it is normal to still get a bit scared. I know I am. And I have c-sections with appointments. But I always dread the recovery. The first one I had was horribly painful and the second one not so bad, depends on if you get a good doctor that cuts the right things lol. I wouldn't worry too much, like I said I hear it's supposed to get easier. You should deliver faster than the other two times and if you opt for the epideral you'll be fine. I was always against it before but then I came to the conclusion that modern technology is a wonderful thing and it is there we might as well use it right? If you can have a baby almost pain free why not? I was in labor with my daughter for almost two days before they did the c-section so I did get to experience that, I did it with no drugs for the first 8 hrs then I had enough. I don't regret it. I wish I had opted for them in the beginning woulda made it so much easier. And it will give you more energy after the baby is born hard labor tires you out even more than just a regular one. Watch some of those birth shows on the discovery channel when I was pregnant with my first it was all I watched. And I still watch them with this one. It does help to watch other people. You will be fine if you wanna talk feel free to email me. We have being pregnant with our third child in commen. Good luck!

I've had 3 babies and yes, each one was different. I always heard that the more you have the easier it is. I didn't find this to be true during the labor part. But, it wasn't any more painful than the first or second.

However, my deliveries went more smoothly and quicker because I knew what had to be done. :) Push like you're taking a #2. The first one I pushed with my stomach... Big mistake.

If it makes you feel better... I've never heard of anyone that had a harder time with their 3rd. And I know a lot of mama's that have 3 or more.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Good luck and God bless!

I'm in the same boat as you. My second was a lot easier, only 4 hours. Now I am due in March, and live about 45 minutes from the hospital. This pregnancy has been the worse. The back pain is awful. With my first two I didn't have any back pain. The headaches!!! are killer! My reaction to food. Smells, all are different. I want to spend most of my early labor at home, but I am scared that I live so far away from the hospital.
Good luck!

Third Pregnancy Labor

2016-11-13 10:08:20 · answer #5 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

I just had my third child in June and I had a much easier time about it. First of all I was more relaxed going into it mostly because my pregnancy was much easier. But my husband and I decided to just go to the hospital and let everyone know after everything was said and done with. With my first two I had my family and in-laws in throughout the whole labor process and while they were all well meaning it got to be kind of hectic and not the most relaxed environment. I was much more relaxed and actually enjoyed my labor experience this time.

while every pregnancy experience is different, your body has already been there and knows what to do and you know what to expect the 3rd time around. For example with my 1st, labor was 18 hrs long, 2nd was 3 1/2 hours long, if there is a third time I'm getting to the hospital pretty quick.

The whole... Every new mom has her baby late...Yeah so not true! Mine was way early!!!! That the ultrasound may show that you baby is 3 1/2 lbs..... Not so.. Mine was 1lb 14oz at 31 weeks... The instinct thing is right on.... if it wasn't for MY mother.... My son wouldn't be here. Because I wasn't listening to myself or my body... Because the Dr. told me I was fine and just a worried new mom. Not everyone bleeds after baby. I only spotted... Some woman produce A LOT of milk. I had no idea that I could do that... Everyone complains about how formula is sooo much money.... Well, you have FREE stuff coming out of your boobs!!!! USE IT! Its the only thing that is free, if you dont produce it, get a hospital grade pump and Dr can give you pills to increase production (if needed! OR you can have some or mine!!!) Good luck...

First pregnancy: After 10 hours of labor, 4 epidurals, and almost four hours of pushing, they had to get the salad spoons and pull my daughter out.

Second pregnancy: After 3 hours of labor, 1 epidural and ten minutes of pushing, my second daughter was literally caught by a nurse. Doc walked in two seconds later.

Third pregnancy: I just hope I make it to the hospital in time!!!

I haven't had three children, but two. You don't say if you have had difficulties with the other births. I've always heard that each successive birth gets easier and it's always a rush to get to the hospital to make it on time. Since you have this fear, tell your doctor. He/she can double check everything and allay your fears. The more you worry, the more tense your body will be. So, if you can, enjoy this blessing. God's blessings to you and your family. Here's hoping for an easy, uneventful delivery.
