Try this: In the back of a standard pick-up you can fit 2 cubic yards and it will be level with the top of the bed. Is that a better visual?

You're asking a reasonable question but the answer is defined within it - it's like asking how long is a yard. Unfortunately trash doesn't tend to organize itself into cubes. I'd say if it made a neat pile about three feet to the peak and spread out into a 5-6 feet circle, you're about there. If you have bulky items, like boxes, they will need crushing down to as small as possible, or they will constitute the space you're taking up.

answer is 3X 3X 3 3X3=9 3X9= 27 so there are 27 sq. feet in 1 sq yard. a standard dump truck can bring you about 6-8 yards of sand or dirt. Trash ? When the trash people come to pick up your regular garbage ask them? O.K. Good Luck
