Why is it that there are so many great movies out there, that never even get nominated, but then we get these dumb ***, boring, no story line, movies that do?

In 2000 i began really hating the Oscars.

American Beauty captured what? 5 major Oscars? that movie was so bad i boycotted it in my town (didnt work sadely). But yet it somehow got all the oscars.

I would have given it to anything but AB. Green Mile was the best movie of that year and darmn is still one of the best ever.

Since then all we've seen are soap opera movies get the Oscars. Brokeback Mountain, Chicago, and tons more. They never give oscars to the real winners.

I would love to see "Flyboys" get an oscar. That was a wonderfully made movie. Someone did a lot of work to make that. If it isnt at lesat nominated I will never watch Ocars again.

what do yaul think?

In 1991, when Silence of the Lambs won everything, Beauty and the Beast should have won best picture. I am not saying Silence of the Lambs wasn't a good movie, it is a very good movie, but I felt it was time for an animated movie to win best picture and Beauty and the Beast is still one of the best films Disney ever made. I realize animated movies don't have real actors, but the story is so good and the music is brilliant. I am wondering if this movie had been live action, would it had won Best Picture?

I believe Johnny Depp deserved an Oscar for Finding Neverland. I'm also ashamed of the Animated Best Picture category. Disney was the first major studio to release an animated feature, yet it has not won an Oscar in the years this category has been around. Some films weren't even nominated. Monsters Inc. deserved it. The Incredibles deserved a nomination. I will watch the Oscars this year, since there are so many new faces on the Academy. Hopefully young people will liven it up.

I truly ought to 2d the guy that suggested American historic previous X. That movie is flat out, maximum useful movie. that's extra perfect through some distance than alot of videos which have received perfect image in the previous. Deserved each and every of the nominations and awards that Shakespeare in Love and existence is desirable were given. I also accept as true with you on Se7en. It develop into the perfect movie of 1995. Braveheart is an exceedingly good movie, do not get me incorrect yet seeing as Silence Of The Lambs received an Oscar. Se7en deserved some nominations, and if i develop into responsible of the Oscars, i'd've given it perfect image or perfect director. different ones i think like they deserved nominations or wins: - Requiem For A Dream. - Malcolm X - a ideal international (1993) - Shawshank Redemption -The Matrix - Gran Torino - Run Lola Run - Edward Scissorhands - The Shining (it received a Razzie... now that's a masterpiece)

i agree completely with you.it seems that in the past years at the oscars, the only thing that a movie needs to be nominated,or to win,it's sexual content, nudity, and very graphic violence.haven't you noticed that hale berry got her first oscar after making monster's ball, that has been one of the major sex scenes i have ever seen.i think i'm traumatized, just to think of billy bob thornton.
