She is very smart and brave but she has shown to lose some of her nerve in stressful situations. Like the first book, she's trying to figure out how to get rid of the Devil's Snare and forgets that she can create fire. Or when the Troll is in the bathroom and she freezes. Or at the ministry, she forgets to pay attention to the Death Eater who can't talk and he attacks her. And then there are the tests, she starts to break under the pressure yet still gets the answers all right. I think that in some ways she knows that Harry has something special about him, he always does better in Defense Against the Dark Arts and I think she loves Ron so much she wants to think of him as her protector. I don't think she's weak, people just assume she will be braver than her age because she's smarter than most her age. Most of this is all from the books, she is different in the movies but so are most of the characters in some way or another.

no that isnt consistent with her character in the movies. Hermione is actually really stubborn. she only backs down when she has to, maybe because of something that she knows will hurt her.....she actually is very confident in the fact that her magic skills are a lot more advanced than the guys' at times...and she has proven that in each film. Her stepping behind the guy is not like her.....shes very self confident and has a very big talk for a girl her size....thats what her character is about. see if u can change that script a bit....u r right, it is stereotypical.

Everybody needs someone in their life. Hermione is no different. For instance she would have been pulverised by the mountain troll in the bathrooms in the first book if Harry and Ron had not been there working together for her safety.

Weak?
After she punched Draco's lights out?
No way!
She brave and tough and don't take anything from anybody.
Remember her birds and Ron?
She loves Harry and Ron (In different ways, obviously) and wants to be involved.
She does seem to be smart enough though to know when to run!
I wrote some Harry Potter fan fiction that I would be happy to send to anyone who emails me from where I can attach a PDF.

They all have their strenghts and weaknesses. Also the fact that all three of them are in Gryfindor is a complete fluke, (Harry could have gone to Slitherine, Hermione I believe could have gone to Ravenclaw, and Ron I believe could have gone to Hufflepuff.

She's meant to give them wisdom and advice when they need it. Without her, Ron and Harry would probably be dead at this point. She provides them strength and understanding when it comes to romantic matters.
