If you agree with the death penalty, explain why. If not, what is the alternative?
Personally I agree with the death penalty.
Please avoid any sickening tortures you might think of, this is serious.

I agree with the death penalty, especially for people who murder children. They do not deserve to live.

I wholeheartedly agree with the death penalty. I worked for the department of rehabilitation and corrections and know that short of death the majority will continue committing more serious and more brutal crimes. They continue to victimize even after they are behind bars.
The only other reasonable alternative to death would be exile. Move all the sickest and dangerous felons to some lonely island in the middle of nowhere, let them police theirselves and wash our hands of them.

The only alternative to the death penalty if for the person to have not committed the crime to begin with. The death penalty is only possible when someone commits a crime.

That's the whole problem! If there is not death penalty, those "sickening tortures" are about all you have to work with.
What does that leave for people who inflict "cruel and unusual" punishmen on innocent victims in society.

No alternative for those who intentionally have caused death to others but with a provision of mercy petition .

i think, according to my book on serial killers, that if you know that you are going to be faced with the death penalty, you can plead guilty and you will stay in prison your intire life instead. i agree with capital punishment, because if someone diliberately puts the fear of death in some person, they too should know that fear.

i agree with the death penalty and it is legal in singapore.
alternative would be life long imprisonment but what purpose does that serve, really?

The death penalty should stay, I am a firm believer that if you kill, you must be killed.
