I have been out on workers comp.They sent me a check My company also sent me a check, for short term disabilty. They said since workers comp paid me I should pay back the money they paid me.Am I getting the shaft?

I don't know for a fact, but if your employer over paid you by mistake you should pay back the money. Normally you have to pay for short term disability out of your paycheck so it may also me money owed to you. I would find out their policies and call the US dept of Labor and ask them.. they should be able to help you to make sure you are not getting "the shaft" and tell you if you are entiltled to both... No, actually you are being overpaid. Workers comp should be paying you while you are off, and not your job, as long as you filed everything correctly. Once you go back to work, it should revert back to your job pay.

Workers comp needs to be paying you....You can't collect from both places, unfortunately.
