I trust good realtors. They are providing a valuable service. I've had a positive experience with every realtor I've ever used:
-Bought first house
-Sold first house and bought second house
-Bought some rental property
-Sold that rental property
-Sold second house
-Investigated selling third house (I married into this house)
Realtors aren't out to screw anyone, unless they're shady. Shady realtors aren't the norm, as the vast majority of their business comes from repeat customers and word of mouth.

I think that's a pretty generic statement. It would depend on the person and the realtor.
The only reason I can think of for someone not trusting a realtor they know nothing about --- They know the realtor has to try to make money for themselves, the company they work for, and the people selling the house. That may make them a bit distrustful of the "best" price of the house.

I was an honest realtor until I chose to go to a different industry. People get very nervous about buying a house, after all, it's the biggest asset they will probably ever buy! This gives realtors a lot of headaches. But if a buyer doesn't like the realtor, they should find another one who will work for them. A lot of realtors I knew were very slicky and pushy. And could be just plain a***s!
I called my former broker when I went to sell my house, and he was such a jerk! So I turned him down and he called me and blamed ME for wasting his time!

Most people don't realize who the realtor is working for. They are paid for and therefore are responsible to the seller... Buyers need to be aware when they are dealing with a realtor that the realtor is pursuing the seller's interests, not the buyer's... Unless the buyer has a separate arrangement where they are paying the Realtor... But that is very rare...

Because they LIE!!! Recently I was looking for homes and contacted a realtor and he said that the only homes available in my area were going for over 300K as a low end and that I really should be looking for a place that was 3 hours from where I wanted to be! He then proceeded to show us his listing of houses online when he was scrolling down I didn't see 1 but more then 4 houses for LESS than 275K on HIS page!!!

Who says they don't? I would say whether or not someone trusts a realtor is based upon who the realtor is, not the fact they that are a realtor.

That is a pretty broad statement. I'm not a realtor, but I work with them on a daily basis. Some of them, I like, some of them I do not. That greatly depends on the individual. With any business, it is the individual you decide to trust and work with that makes the difference.

A lot of people have a hard time trusting anyone who is selling you something. The reason being is we dont live in the old days where a mans/womans word is honest. These days its all about making money.
Which this is a disadvantage for the honest sales people because no one knows who they can trust these days.

Because realtors have no incentive to get you the best house possible for you. Their only incentive is making a sale. They dont care what it is as long as it is sold.
