But not every state requires that you be a citizen to get a drivers license most illegals register to vote where they get their drivers license.

This policy of giving illegals drivers licenses will fail because word is some airlines will refuse to accept a license from states that issue them to illegals as a valid id.

Tennessee once gave licenses to illegals but when the citizenry complained they issued non-id licenses to illegals.

Yes, everyone in America is supposed to carry on them at all times, either a state issued ID card or a Driver License. This has been the law ever since I was born, in 1953, and I don't know how long before I was born.

Besides those Republicans do get I.D. for thier pets so they can vote.

Some countries require you get an ID card, and carry it with you at all times.
Some countries even issue a voting card, and stamp the dates you voted.
Here all you have is a drivers license, and those who do not drive are in the mist.

Valid point

Citizens have the privilage and DUTY to vote - you can't go to Canada and vote, can you? Not unless you are a Canadian, right?

The rest of the time, we are not required to carry ID - unless it is relevant for what we are doing (like driving, which people forget is a privilage.) We do NOT have random police stops - like used to be common in Eastern Europe - where you could be thrown in jail simply because you couldn't produce your papers.

(Oh, and people who don't drive can get state issued ID cards, but are not required to do so.)

Everyone is required to carry an ID card. The DMV issues them.
