i would go with the kipper - hard to find another goalie who does what he does (maybe brodeur?).. last year 10 shutouts, 42 wins with a GAA of 2.07 and sv% of .923, tops in the league. so solid!

I usually don't play Fantasy Hockey, but if I had to take the first pick, it would be C Joe Thorton of San Jose. Here's the rundown of the players ranking to give you some options:
2) Mikka Kiprusoff, G Calgary
3) Sidney Crosby, C, Pittsburgh
4) Alexander Ovechkin, LW, Wasington
5) Jaromir Jagr, RW, New York Rangers
6) Dan Heatley, LW, Ottowa
7) Jonathan Cheechoo, RW, San Jose
8) Daniel Alfredsson, RW, Ottowa
9) Ilya Kovalchuk, LW, Atlanta
10) Jason Spezza, C, Ottowa

I wouldn't take a goalie first. Forwards give you more points than a goalie would. Ovechkin and Crosby were rookies last year and they finished top ten in the league for scoring. Now that they've got some experience, they're going to blow up the league. The two of them are going to be serious Art Ross and Richard Trophy contenders. I would take Crosby because he's playing with Malkin. Ovechkin has no one to help him in Washington.
