It's the only developed country with an organized political religious right wing.
It's also the only country in which politicians pander to the Christian right giving them a sense of validity.

The U.S. has a large percentage of Christians who believe that the universe was created by God in a matter of 7 days. The question I like to ask... how do we know how long a day was to God? Maybe 1 day for God = 10,000,000 years for a human. If this is true, that 1 day for God is equal to an astronomical number of human years then both theories could exist semi-harmoniously (except for that whole evolution of man from ape thing).

The country was first peopled by the Puritans and they still exercise quite a hold over many people's thinking.
Add to that the efforts of the moronic "Christian" right to substitute the preposterous idea of "Intelligent Design" for the scientific FACTS and it is obvious.
Have you noticed where we rank in education compared to other countries?

Because contrary to popular belief the United States of America has become a theocracy rather than the Democratic republic with a separation of Church and state that out forefathers intended.

Pledge of Alligance "one nation under God......" Star Spangeled Banner 2nd verse "and this be our motto, In God we do trust..........." Americans take the 2 very seriously therefore where does the belief in evolution come in?

yes. because evolutiuon is one of the most stupid hoaxes ever to be thought up by anti-religion athiest scientists who dont want to beliveve in God, because that would make their demi-god status more precarious. can we help it if most of America is smart enough not to buy into that crap? anyone with a half-brain can figure out the myriad of flaws embeded in the evolution theory. i hope your not dumb enough to buy into it, too. does that answer your question??
