I spent my comic collecting years "Marvelling" at just how much better DC was! I could write on the outstanding greatness of DC for hours, but I only have a few minutes...so here's just a tiny argument in favor of DC.
Working with DC, Frank Miller and Alan Moore in the 80's rejuvenated the entire comic book industry with their seminal works. Miller with his work on "Daredevil" and his gloriously dark "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns" (which proved conclusively that Batman could in fact kick Superman's a$$), and Moore with his work on "Swamp Thing" and "Watchmen."
Do I even need too mention Neil Gaiman's work on Sandman? Of course I don't...it's utterly mind-blowing. Marvel just can't compete. Marvel has your stereotypical archetypes, which is fine for when you're 10...but when you grow up...or want something with heart and soul...head straight for DC.

Started out DC, but I also have an appreciation for Marvel, Eclipse, Dark Horse, and other publishers. There's more to the universe than just Marvel and DC!

I've always liked Dc comics characters better but last night looking at my Collection of comics I found I had lot more Marvel Titles than any Dc Comics. It is too bad that Dc does not make a comic book for each character like Marvel or at least continue them for more than a year.

I am both a DC Comics and Marvel Comics kind of a kid. Both of them have guided me through my way of life since the day I was born.

I was DC as a kid. But Crisis on Infinite Earths, and "The DC Challenge" led me away.
I tinkered w/ Marvel, but more or less gave up on comics for about 18 years.
I came back after reading DC's 'Public Enemies'
Now I read both.

I used to think Marvel was better. The X men and Spider Man just seemed so gritty and...well *new* compared to the perfectly cheesy Superman and the horribly ridiculous Batman movies. (Did you SEE Batman and Robin??). But with the new Batman and Superman movies and my recent horrible obsession with Smallville, I'm finding a newfound appreciation for The Man of Steel and the Dark Knight. I'm not enough of a nerd to be all brushed up on the variety of green superheros (Arrow, Lantern, the Hulk, personally I think the Green Arrow looks like a freaking fairy) or Aquaman or all that. I suspect, though, I'll be getting into the Green Arrow as he's just been introduced as a new character on Smallville.

I started off on Marvel. I think the Incredible Hulk was my first ever comic. I read Marvel alongside of some crappy British war comics up until I was about six.
And then I found Batman...
Christ on a bike do I love Batman.
