I heard someone say that showing early 3-4 months could depend on how much amniotic fluid your baby has, is this true? I have never heard this. If it is true does that mean if you are not showing it could be to low amniotic fluid?

No, the fact that you are not showing yet does NOT mean you are low in amniotic fluid. That is absurd. There is tremendous variation in how much and how soon women "show."

My gosh there was one woman on here the other day who said she was HUGE and showing markedly at 6 weeks! If this is true, she was just getting fat and eating waaayyy too much. The baby is the size of a cashew nut at 6 weeks, if that!

I can understand your worry, but try to tell yourself over and over "I am going to be fine and my baby is going to be fine." You are going to be okay! Just go to all your doctor's appointments, take regular walks for excercise, eat healthy, and do all the right things.

That's all you can do anyway & worry doesn't help!

Anyway, keep posting in from time to time, I would like to know how everything goes for you. This is my first preg & I am due on May 1.

The amount of amniotic fluid is not that great at 3-4 months pregnant. Much of your size has to do with your uterus and how it grows. If this is your first child you will be smaller for longer. Your uterus expands faster with each consecutive pregnany. Larger amounts of amniotic fluid do not begin to accumulate until around third trimester. Also keep in mind that you are retaining a lot of water and that your blood volume will double during pregnancy. Your amniotic fluid should have been measured when you had your first ultrasound ( at first doctor's visit) and any problems would have been noticed then. You should have another ultrasound coming up in about a month where they will measure the amniotic fluid again.
The conditions associated with too much and too little amniotic fluid are known as polyhydramnios and oligohydramnios. They can pose problems for your baby, but I wouldn't be worried about them unless you have been diagnosed with such a problem by your physician.

Actually, when you show depends on what shape your body is in. I am a big girl (ha) I will be 16 weeks on Saturday and this is my second pregnancy. Needless to say I am not in shape. I am already in maternity pants. I am not hugely showing but It is obvious I am pregnant to anyone who knows me.

Here is a site that tells about amniotic fluid and its production. Just try not to look at the picture if you are squeamish.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amniotic_fluid

It basically says, the baby starts "swimming in the amniotic fluid in the second trimester. Until then there isn't very much. It also talks about to much and too little fluid.

When I had my daughter, I had a problem of too much amniotic fluid but it wasn't apparent until I was over 6 mo. At 6 mo I looked like I was 9 at nine the doctor swore I was having a 10 + lb baby. She was only 7/11 but because of the excess fluid, She had the cord wrapped around her body and couldn't drop.
