I prefer show tunes, and old MGM musicals, I like the classics, Judy Garland, Liza Minnelli, Streisand, but my fave so far is Eva Cassidy's version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" she was a newly discovered talent that died at age 33 from melanoma. What a shame, she was just making it too.
Oh...can't leave out the new Diva's like, Linda Eder, Emily Skinner and Alice Ripley.

I like evanessence (tho an easier spelling would help). Fuel is also decent (Won't Back Down, Dare Devil Sound Track). I also happen to like Mudvayne, as well as Crossfade (Cold). This isn't really "alt," but I've always enjoyed Meat Loaf, esp The Monster's Loose. Bat out of Hell 3 will be coming out (check it out on youtube!).
