Do you know how long after you remove a nose and lip ring, it takes to close permanetly?

I need them removed for work but I still want them, I've had my nose for about a year and my lip ring for 8 months. Will they close if removed for eight hours??

Everybody's different. I've seen nose piercings close up after 6 hours, I've seen them stay open after 6 weeks...impossible to say for sure...which is the only thing you can say for sure :)

I'd say try it for about 2 hours and see what happens. If it's ok, try for 4 the next day...and so on. As it gets more difficult to put it back in (sensitive, tight, whatever) that's where your limit is.

Other options are to get a small transparent plastic "retainer" from your local piercing shop. That way you can wear something small and not noticeable to keep the hole open while you can't have jewelry in there. The lip is a little harder to answer, but mor likely to stay open for longer than the nose.

Im not sure on the lip but my nose closed up within a few days, and I had pierced for a few years. I was and still am sad about it, I will probably have it pierced again when my child is older and there is less of a chance of getting bopped in the nose.

Lip rings close very quickly, much quicker than you would think. Nose, it depends on how long you've had it. Mine closed up after about a week and I had it for 3 years.

If you've had it for less than a year it would probably close with in a few weeks... if you've had it over 2 years chances are it won't close but if it does it will take a couple of months and if you've had it 5+ years it definitely won't close.

Just a few days. Piercings close incredibly fast. A tongue piercing can close in a few hours. No matter how long you've had it it will definately close over.

Depends on how long you have had the piercing. If they are fairly new, it wont take but a day or so......but if they are older it could take several weeks to totally close up. I would put something on it to help it heal faster.

It depends how long you had it on....but once it closes you will most likely have a scar. Now if you have had it on for years it wont close.
