I need a car, but have no clue as to what brand/model would be good. I need good gas milage, large trunk space (must hold 20 computer paper cartons, camping gear for six people & three tables& still have visability for the rear window.) A stick shift, good brakes, decent radio signal and a rear wiper would be a plus as well. A decent price (around 13,000$US). Everything else does not matter.
Everytime I go to a dealership they show me these things that have too many features which they won't take off (power windows? Please!) and are not going to last very long. One tried to sell me a station wagon, but it was so low I cannot see it hauling my business up a mountain side to a rural campsite without damaging the undercarrage. and the trucks I've seen are too small.
Any advise?.

Try a small SUV. Maybe a jeep Cherokee or something similar with a cargo capacity and a little fuel mileage. If you will borrow at a bank of financial institution, try buying from an individual. Most are better cars and you can get a real good deal. It eliminates the middleman with his hand out. Good luck

you need a big SUV like an Expedition or Suburban - but don't expect geat gas mileage. The good news is that you can probably get one cheap now as people have been unloading them since the gas price hike.

try a Hummer
It does every thing and your freinds jaws will drop.
However there is a downside. you'll be paying it off untill the day you die cause were talking $183,000
Anyway, just a thought

How about a used mini-van or Ford Explorer?
