Republicans "The bullies": believe that everything should be earned not owned. These things consist of food, shelter, and healthcare. They want very little assistance from social assistance. The want to push equal tax rates onto all wether they are poor or rich. They want abortion illegal, as well as gay marriage.

Democrats "The Whiners": Advocates civil liberties, equal rights and opportunity, as well as social freedom. They want a free enterprize system opposed to the Republican enterprize zones. They want progressive taxation in order to pay for social services.

Understand: That these principles do not define those groups 100% It merely represents the majority view of those parties.

Go to each of their websites. The Democrat one was easy to navigate, and they had a list of their beliefs and goals, some of which they might try to acheive from time to time.
The Republican one was a little vague. There was a lot of reference to what the party was in a historical sense, and a lot of build up on the major players, but it never quite got around to saying what they stand for. I guess there is no good way to tell the American people they really only care about foreign oil, making corporations richer, lining their own pockets, and keeping the rest of us where they want us.

Republicans and Democrats both have the prefer to make the international a better suited position. in spite of the indisputable fact that they don't have any settlement on a thanks to stumble on "better suited" nor no matter if or not they could, would they agree on a thanks to get there. Republicans usually have self belief in individualism and freedom in economic affairs. human beings could preserve their own affairs devoid of the authorities intervening because the authorities's interventions are AT perfect inefficient, and regularly counterproductive. in spite of the indisputable fact that the social gathering is likewise ruled by skill of non secular conservatives who have self belief that the state can and ought to make their innovative and prescient of morality into legal criteria. Democrats have self belief that at the same time as capitalism will be an important evil to boost gross revenues, that it really is inherently incorrect and unfair. they have self belief the authorities can and could intervene contained in the commercial affairs of human beings in inspite of way it sees slot as a thanks to engineer better equivalent consequences. On social subject matters they have self belief that the state could no longer legislate morality...which i have continually felt became a touch contradictory when you consider that their economic regulations are mandating charitable giving. yet they reject the authorities telling human beings a thanks to lvie their non-economic lives. yet there's a third selection. i'm a Libertarian. We borrow from the guy freedom parts of each aspect. We oppose state meddling in our lives in economic AND moral elements. We dig freedom in all venues at the same time as the different 2 opt for to only furnish those freedoms in line with their own worldviews. :)

In theory -

Republicans - small government, states rights, limited business regulation

Democrats - more regulation and oversight, federal & social responsibility for citizen's welfare

Recently though, the Republican majority has expanded the government, frustrating many in the GOP base (including me).

If you mean the DNC and the GOP leaders, they stand for making money anyway they can as long as it is not likely they get caught doing it. As you have seen they aren't even good at making those decisions, much less ones that are right for the country.

Republicans believe that you should work for your money and then be able to keep what you earn. They believe conservative values and small government (mostly).

Democrats believe in entitlements; that no one should be able to keep most of the money they earn. They believe in a welfare state. They believe in abortion, fetus stem cell research, large government and taxes, taxes, taxes.
