Yes it really is. Did I tell you when I was researching transvestism? I read about this woman called Isabelle Ekhardt who round turn of the century dressed in Turkish robes and got into Parliament (I think in Turkey) because you can´t tell what sex someone is when they´re covered head to foot. Also see Lawrence of Arabia who is well documented as enjoying the way British officers saw his dressing up in long robes as effeminate (he was also into masochism, and never had a proper relationship with anyone).
Sorry, I know it's not funny, but it´s true!
