legally, the movie has to be run. but late at night if nobody has purchased a ticket about 30 minutes into the film, they will stop the movie and drop ring the film, which means the machine will run it through to the end, kind of like your VCR FF function...

I used to movie in a theater. It depends on the time of day. If it was the middle of the day, I would still show the movie. If it was the last show of the night, than there was no point.

Well.....atleased one person in this world would want to go see the new release. So I don't think that is possible. But if it did happen it would be like a resturant. If nobody came within two weeks they would shut down. So if nobody went to the new relase then they would stop playing.

Actually, they do.
A couple of times when going to the particular theater with 'my' movie, I went into another theater to see what that movie was like. I couldn't see anyone in there even though there were plenty of floor lightening and the screen gave all enough light to see the auditorium. In these incidents, the movie as playing.

it depends on how long it has been showing for like if it has been out for 2 days and nobody has gone to watch it then it will stay in longer but if it has been showing for like a week it will stop showing.

yeah. if someone goes in early. that happened to me once. i was waiting for my friend, she never showed but i got to watch a movie withount her bitching about something stupid.
