I mean, we use the word S*it to express how we feel. We barely use it to harass someone. When some one says "F*ck You" what does that actually means and why is it soo offensive? Does it have its own meaning when cursing at people? I mean you can easily say "Deng IT" To express how you feel when you got hit instead of saying "S*it" instead of saying thats "BullS*it" You can say thats "Crap"
Well since the word B*tch, Sh*t, H*ll isn't "Beeped" out on t.v shows, i guess those aren't swears, but why are these words soo offensive?
And now, before you answer, make sure your answer is about THIS question. Not like "Well why do we use Chicken Patties instead of Chiken Burgers?" Stick with the main subject.

Good question. I too don't understand why these words are very offensive. Maybe its just the way the people thinks it mean? Or maybe the the people who say it makes it sound very offensive? I have no idea, but good question. I give you thumbs up.

I do find some words offensive, but why is a good question.
I say fashion of language, at certain times certain words may be acceptable but later they can sound crude or offensive.
Two examples
Flared (bell-bottom) trousers were fashionable in the 70s but in the 80s and early 90s they were ridiculed mercilessly, then in the late 90s they became fashionable again.
what has this got to do with your question?
The MOST offensive word currently in the English language according to opinion surveys is C*NT, where now it is fashionable to say vagina or vulva (both latin words), but in the past C*NT was the actual word in English, and since it has become offensive over time we use a foreign word because it has less impact.
If any word is considered offensive, slang words will be created to temporarily overcome the offensiveness, over time however even these words will become offensive and replaced.

I get your point ,but I don't give a damn about offensive words.
People use them as a guide for societal norms. I'm not normal &
prefer to go against the grain. I'm not hooked on cursing/ profanity,
but I use it only to get a rise out of those who find it offensive.
I use profanity when I am seriously pissed. The "Bad Words"
seem to amplify my mood.
However, I have a 2 edge sword or double standard here. I find
myself judging others harshly when they use profanity. I tend to
think those who swear are short on a well- balanced vocabulary.
Go figure.

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me! I think that sums it up. They are just letters stringed together to form words. I don't think it is the words themselves that are so offensive, it's how they are said, and if they are used to offend or hurt. I am not a religious person by any means, but I don't think there is any reason to use profanity to hurtfully abuse someone, but the occasional cuss word in a non hurtful way is fine by me.

I think in most people those words are not really offensive. They are dirty words!
"S*it" is actually human waste, or waste in general
"f*ck" has something to do with sex, literally intercourse in a force way.
So they involved with violence and unclean stuff. Normally, we should not say those words. I guess that is why they are considered offensive in this case!

what's offensive is different for each person. personally, i think you should be able to express yourself the way you want to without having to worry about somebody going off the deep end because they don't like the way you said it. they're just words, after all. if you don't like it, tune out or ignore.
and somehow, those cutesy, nice phrases just don't pack the punch that the "good ones" do.

I don't know I don't personally get it either. I think it has to do with the way things are passed down overtime. It's just traditionally not polite to use those words and things haven't really changed yet.

It's mainly the mothers who say "I dunt want MY child listening to that" the same people who bar their kids from violent video games, tv shows, and chatting on the internet.
