Posting things on the net is not illegal because it's freedom of speak, however if the postings are in any way derogatory, or pose as slander against someone, or portray someone in a negative light its not legal. I would tell the person to remove the pictures at your warning or else you will seek legal representation. If the person does not remove the photos contact a lawyer and see where they think you should go with it. They can tell you all the legal ramifications associated with what is going on. You may have to contact police authorities too and file harassment.

From what I know (I am not a lawyer). You can legally take pictures of anyone in a public place. Unless you are a public figure (running for office, Hollywood celebrity), the person can't post factual lies about you. Also depends on which state you are in and which state that person is in. Laws vary. If I were you, I'd make copies of everything, then talk to a lawyer about it.

Just hit him with Defamation of Character. Failing that, have you ever considered defaming his character, show him how it feels. You can put stories on blogs telling the world that he licks the toe-jam right off the feet of elderly queers, and goes to public places with a plastic bottle and borrows water from urinals but never returns it. Then publish the following description: "Elevating, to give peint to his blick, his jewelled pederect to the allmisty ceilung, he luckystruck blueild out of a few should-be santillans a cloister of staravouts over Maples, a lucciolys in togodder the odddocence of his vellume, gresk, lettong and russicruxian, well you get the idea.

No, that is not legal. You should contact a lawyer and have them write a letter to the individual that is posting this content. Surely that would scare them enought o remove the information and stop. Depending on thier age, you could also contact thier ISP or thier parents.

actually if you're in public, he has the legal right to take pictures of you. It's just like the press. Movie stars don't want the press taking pictures of them and putting the pictures in magazines and on TV with some fake story behind them. But the press has the legal right.
