You should go to work. It you don't, you will make yourself and your sister's friend look really bad. You can look for another job later.

Jobs are supposed to be work. They're giving you money in exchange for the things you do there. Everyone puts in their dues on jobs that aren't as pleasant as they might like. It's how you start moving up in the world.
I worked at Burger King when I was in high school. I didn't like it, either. There were some good times, and I have some nice memories, but I could think of a bunch of places I would rather work.
But until you put in your dues and show you can be a dedicated worker even when you don't want to, why should someone take a chance on you?

Continue to work there until you find a job where you really fit in. I know what you mean about not really feeling comfortable in certain environments. However, you don't want to burn bridges by quitting jobs suddenly or in a non-professional manner. Even though you're a college student, keep your wits and good business sense at the forefront at all times. Your sister's friend hooked you up this time and you just may need her again in the future. Always keep all contacts intact.

One day is hardly enough to decide. If the people are nice and the pay is good, it's probably worth it to stick it out for a little while longer. Most people have jobs they don't love while they're in school. But part of the reason you are in college is so that you can get a job you will like later, this job is only temporary. Hopefully it will be a bit longer than one day temporary. Give it a fair chance and it might not be as bad as you think.

You should definitely go. You may not like it, but it brings in a paycheck and jobs are not as easy to find as you may think. And if you quit this job after one day that will look pretty bad when you try to find something else. You are supposed to give a two weeks notice. I say go to work try it out for a little while and you may suprise yourself and actually start to like it even though you think you won't. After a couple of weeks if you still don't like it, then put in your notice. In the meantime, keep your eyes open for something else.

If its really not something you can stand doing then I say quit. I would do it in a polite manner. You should probably go in and work today then at the end of the day tell the boss what you think just so your friends won't look bad for referring you... Just my 2 cents

You should go to work, as you made a commitment. If you dont like the job, talk to your boss and see if they have something else you could do or at least tell the boss that you are looking for something else.

Not only will you make your friend look bad but he will be upset and not reccomend you for anything again. You should really find another job, put in your 2 wks notice and quit the right way.

You shouldn't even have to ask this question. Out of common decency and common courtesy to the employer and your sister's friend, go to work for at least a couple of weeks and make it look like you gave it a chance, even if you didn't. Besides that, you'll at least have cash flow until you find another.
