How do i know when to DEFOG or DEFROST my car windows?

im so confused i can't tell when i need to defog or defrost. how do i know which is which.

let's examine the words. defog is to remove fog while defrost is to remove frost. are your windows foggy or frosty?

Defog or Defrost...The effect is the same... If you can't see through your windshield, then turn them on. A stream of heated air will be directed at the inside of the glass to clear the moisture and make it easier to see out.

Below 40 degrees defrost. Above 40 degrees defog.

Ok......if its really cold outside then the outside of your windows will need defrosting....... Now if you're getting hot n heavy inside ur car, you may need to defog when you go to drive again.

It means what it says. When your windshield fogs up due to warm outside air and cool insidetemps your windshield deveope a fog on the inside on the car. The defrost or defog mode removes this by allowing air to flow on the windshield itself and remove the fogging condition.

i own a repair shop,and you need to run your defroster in cooler weather to keep the windows clear so you can see clearly when your driving,you don't actually have a defogger on your car,,the defroster does all that you will need done,your car may also have a rear window defroster on it,its usually has a button for it,,use it also on cold weather to see better ,good luck i hope this will help some.

Defog is when it is foggy out. Defrost is when it is frosty outside!

If your A/C doesn't come on in defrost, then turn it on and crank the heat up. It will dry the air out.

are you for real??? you defrost ice which is 32 degrees or colder and you defog fog which is warmer than 32 degrees. you must be new to planet earth...what scares me is you probably drive :(
