It doesn't matter how much lotion or oil I put on them it never changes. Also they seem like they over grow.

I'm told that taking Vitamin E tablets are good for the hair, nails, and skin. It also helps the nails and hair grow.

Hmmm! Did you are attempting Vaseline? basically a reasonable smear around each and every fingernail, perhaps placed on once you're waiting to sleep at night. It has somewhat helped mine, yet then, they are no longer so undesirable.
