There is a road in front of my house that I feel is too steep. I was wondering where I could find information about how steep a road can be in PA and still be considered safe for all season driving.

In general road engineers try for a slope from the center of a road to be about 6" - 12" for an 11 foot wide lane (22' wide road) This does not include the breakdown lanes for width only the driving lanes. There needs to be some slope to allow water to drain off. In some places such as tight corners the road will be wider and have a higher slope.

If your road is more than that it is probably an older road that has not yet been rebuilt to today's standards.
