Iraqis actually had peace and civil order under Saddam. He'd persecuted Shiites in the past, but for more than 10 years previous to the invasion, Iraq had relatively safe streets and people generally knew how to avoid tangling with the government or the police. So the sectarian strife has been off and on and has never been anywhere near as bad as it is now. You think most of or troops are killed by terrorist under cover and not by regular Iraqis. That's an interesting take on the situation. 65 to70% of all Iraqis say it's all right to kill Americans. Could that be because foreign terrorists are blowing up US soldiers. And if wanting to kill Americans is defined as terrorism, and terrorist must be killed, then the US will have to kill most of Iraq's population of 25 million to stop terrorism there.

the terrorists have been here until now we went to Iraq. they're nonetheless here and that i do no longer comprehend if scuffling with this conflict will ever replace the way issues are between our countries. Our women and men all of us is accessible scuffling with to your freedom. If we basically sat back and did no longer something after 9 11, do you think of we could have the liberty all of us savor now. I had 2 babies in the protection stress and that i'm proud what they did. NO. Al Qaeda did no longer pose much less of a threat to people until now we went to Iraq. they could have invaded us if we did no longer do some thing first. i'm so unwell of this conflict and that i wish it may basically end and convey our courageous people homestead. Too many lives have been lost on the two aspects. innocents besides. those rotten creeps over there have not any cost on existence while they use a baby as a bomb. they're evil and that i wish they could be wiped off the face of the earth. Forgive me for being so bitter, yet i can not take all this destruction any further.

We keep hearing how if we pull out, Iraq will fall into civil war, and civil war is the worst possible end result after all of our years there. but why can't we just do this:
Shift ideology completely, admit that our presence there isn't making much of a difference... and then stop pretending like civil war is such a bad thing. Explain that there is nothing we can do to prevent civil war, since its what the people of Iraq obviously want, so why not let them have it. Innocents will die of course, but s**t happens, it's war. You can't save everyone. Besides they're dying anyway in record numbers.
So if we pull the troops and let the Sunnis and the Shites sort out their crap for the next 5 or so years until theres a clear winner, we can make trade relations with the leader of the winning side, to get access to the oil (since that's really the only reason we went in the first place despite all the rhetoric). And if this new leader doesn't want to play nice, take him out like we did Saddam...let civil war ensue again...repeat ad nauseism.
Ok maybe it's not all touchy-feely like "LETS SPREAD DEMOCRACY!!!" but still it would probably be a better approach since it could actually work, plus it frees up our military for things that actually might make a difference.

ENFORCE IRAQI LAW, which means disarming all militias, policing the cities and towns thoroughly and forcefully, establishing the rule of law and apprehending and prosecuting those who break the law.
The Iraqi government has looked the other way when Shi'ite militias prowl inner cities and outlying areas. That has to stop. The Badr Brigade or Sadr Militia, these are non-governmental forces operating undeterred within the country's borders. We do not stand for that in the US, the Iraqis should not stand for that in Iraq.
The US and Iraqi armies are targets because they enforce the law, period. If the the US army holed up in their HQ's, they may get the occasional mortar round over high/fenced walls, but the casualty rate would be much lower. We are out in force, policing, apprehending, securing areas, and therefore are exposed to attacks.
I would remind you the cost of the Civil War, WW1 and WW2, freedom is not free. This type of war we're seeing in Iraq mimicks the actions our Revolutionary Army undertook to surprise and fatigue the British. We will not be fatigued, we will learn, and we will secure Iraq for peace-loving Iraqis. The rest should know they will not win, because the US/Iraq CANNOT afford to lose.

Maybe when they start the civil war, we should leave. Do you think anyone actually gives a **** about Iraq and the ppl living there. No one cares. The only reason why we're over there is because the scared Republicans think that everyone is going to bomb us. All the other countries know that and are taking that advantage. Hints: Iran and N. Korea.

We can not end the internal conflicts that different Iraqi's have for each other. All we can do is assist the government in starting a police force and an Army, then get the hell out.

Right.. The absolutley disgraceful fact of all this is that we were apparently bringing sovereignty to an already Sovereign nation.
I hear all this nonsense from the parrots of the right and I am disgusted.

Well, nothing. it's going to be hard unless the U.S. finds and captures all of Al Qaida's leaders.
