I have installed my new USB HD 250 gig (still unformated). My PC can detects the new USB mass storage device, but it appears nowhere, no drive letter, nothing. This happens both on my desktop as well as my laptop. I am using windows XP.

Any hints ?

Type MMC and hit enter

Choose Disk Managment

well the simplest way to do it is to right click my computer, click on manage, then click on disk management. You should see the new Hard disk here... right click it and click on format and once its formatted you can change the drive letter if you want...
