I Know Cano doesn't have a hit yet, but at least he puts the ball in play and has a chance to advance the runners.

Mouhau, I guarantee the Yankees would give A-Rod to the Twins if they'd take him and his salary.

haha we'd be more productive with him out of the lineup in the postseason... he just can't produce. but like joe torre says, no matter WHERE you are in the lineup, those clutch situations with men on base will find you, like it or not.

You read my mind. Not only is A-Rod choking in clutch situations But he is not having quality at bats. He's thinking that if he hits a grand slam home run all past sins will be forgiven. What he really needs to do is start thinking like a team player and realize that a bloop single or a BB or an HBP , while not glamorous ,all get the run in.
Teams that win championships execute the fundamentals very well and with the exception of A-Rod the Yankees have been doing that, as have the Tigers.
Torre has a real problem; he doesn't have another decent third baseman so he can't sit A-Rod so he's stuck with him.
Basically Torre is going to have to bat A-Rod in the 9 hole and tell him that it doesn't matter if he hits, just so long as he plays third like the second coming of Graig Nettles.
If A-Rods a man he will understand if not he will keep getting K's in clutch situations along with E-5's

No of course not. A-Rod may have is problems like all the other players, but he's still a heck of a player. If you Yankee fans don't want him then E-Mail Joe Torre to give him to the Twins. We'll be more than happy to take him.

You know the Yankees have a problem with Alex hitting anywhere right now. He has a mental block about the playoffs. The team though has enough talent to overcome his lack of hitting. Baseball is a team sport.

The Yankees would be better if they sent A Rod packing and got rid of that selfish arrogant jerk. They will never win a World Series as long as they have him.

The Yankees would be more productive if and when A-Rod starts hitting!!!!

I think the Yankees would be more productive if Miguel Cairo (or Andy Phillips) was playing 3rd and batting 9th.

Putting A-Rod 9th is not the worst idea. It might take some pressure off and he might get to see better pitches with Damon and Jeter to follow. Really, he would be best suited batting 3rd, or maybe even 2nd, with some big bats behind him to make sure that he sees some good pitches.

I like your idea. A-Rod is the only 3B they have so he must play but ideally I would like to see him benched for game 3 making him available for late inning pinch hit heroics or just shaken up and ready to kick butt for game 4. Put Bernie Williams or Cabrerra in tonite... but alas A-Rod is the 3rd baseman so he plays. footnote, i have no idea how a-rod is as a pinch hitter but I do like bernie.

i thikn any team would love to have a guy with 500 homers, and would be going to the hall of fame if he quit right now. A-rod is the man, he will get of his hump, and eventually start hitting again, hopefull it will be tonight at 8 0'clock.
