If they do then they, the liberals, are just thinking with the left side of their brains. Socialism has never built anything great. America has become great only by the Free Capitalist ideas, and fair trade. It has never been Socialist and because there is a large movement toward this Socialist ideals today... The Great America society is running into ruin. What we need to do is get back to the if you don't work... you don't' get paid idea. Hard as it seems it is the way to keep and make America Great.

Well certainly after the great depression American's lives were enriched by FDR. He had a great many good programs, my Dad worked in CCC before going to the Navy. When you think about it the war actually intensified what Roosevelt was already doing, putting people to WORK! Making all the ships, tanks and planes put $$$ in middle class hands which was just what the dr ordered.

Well some consider FDR's "New Deal" socialism and I guess by your standards that was a dismal failure. Oh and I guess having a national health care plan, so that the citizens of the richest nation in the world can all have insurance is socialism. Wow, that must seem almost blasphemous. To answer your question only ignorant folks like you equate government assisting common people as socialism.

It's because Liberals hate America and want to rewrite history. And while we're at it, why is it that liberals, who insist that conservative republicans are so bad, continue to right wings insulting names? Do you ever hear any republicans calling democrats names? Really, grow up.

We are a great country for many reasons but capitalism is what makes people work hard. Socialists do not want to work hard but would rather just sit and collect from those that do.

Scorpiorn, I have seen socialized medicine "at work" while my father-in-law lay dying in a hospital in England and I can tell you, it is NOT pretty!

corvuequis, your are right. To work and make money. Capitalism, NOT Socialism.

My question to you is why does the right insist that America was founded on christian principles? It wasn't. The first colonists came here to make money.

Who said that? I'm a liberal and I never did.

Putting words in my mouth and then daring me to refute them is a pretty weak way to exchange ideas. How about some real insight?

I don't know maybe, majority vote: ppl getting together to vote for who they want.
Or maybe its the whole united we stand, divided we fall thing. Maybe its are job not just as a country but as citizens in this country, to take care of are own. That would be my guess. I say you do your thing, i do mine. We have no problems, stay out of my face.
