Cable ties are good. You can try to do what some people do with their TVs and pin the cords to the wall, if you're next to one. Maybe if you have a desk pin them to the boards of the desk underneath.

Computer cords are very hard to hide when in a home and there is a lot of equipment involved.

There is a gadget you can buy at Staples, or, similar stores. You thread the cords through the device and it keeps them out of the way so no one trips over the wires and cords.

Several options.
Cable ties definitely work.
There are plastic corregated tubes you can use.
Most hardware stores sell plastic channels that stick to the wall or baseboard.
The craziest thing I've seen is one of those plaster decorative pillars they sell at craft stores. My neighbor bought one, cut a small hole in the side, and shoved all the equipment from his laptop in there - the USB hub, power adaptor, etc. He stuck a plant on top and all the cables vanished.

I bind the cords together then place a homemade screen in front of them that I have covered with fabric. You can use cardboard of any kind to make the screen.

organize all of your hardware in such a way that the desk or whatever your PC sits on hides all the chords. you can also use zip straps to bind all the chords together and then tape or secure them to the floor.

Wind each cord up in such a fashion (serpentine) that you can stuff it into a used toilet paper or paper towel roll.
Works great and cheap.

Are you from South Africa? We have got cable zippers here and you can buy them from any Verimark store . Your cables will look neater and also safer were children are around.
