Does anyone know any articles that talk about how msuic is a key elemtnet in mvoes, and it would be even better if it were about comedies. Im writing a 5 page term paper on this and need some outside sources.

I'd skip the secondary opinions and go to primary sources--pick movies you know of where music really made the scene, and perhaps use the DVD extras for support from the movie-makers rather than it simply being your opinion.

Office space--the printer bashing scene wouldn't have worked without some gangsta rap
Many movies--when the dorks (not the main characters) find love, there is often a cheezy love theme so that viewers can just go 'Ok, they are happy too' without wasting film time on that tangent.
Eurotrip--Johnny doesn't know (might have been the funniest thing in the movie)

Of course, if you want to go back to classics--chaplain, the stooges, etc. effectively used music in their scenes.

I need more coffee--then maybe I could come up with more.
