I "fell" for someone I met online. We talked for like a week over IM before meeting in person. All the expectation of the online chatting made the first in person meeting really exciting, with a high level of attraction between the two of us. But when we started spending more in-person time together, I realized that he wasn't really the person I had thought he was when we'd been talking online, emotionally or physically. He was still head-over-heels, but I had come out of the clouds and was seeing things from a more realistic point of view.

To answer your question, I think it is possible to fall for someone online, but it isn't a certainty that it will last once you meet face-to-face.

I think that it's totally possible to fall for someone you've met online. I suppose there are people out there that'll disagree. You do gotta be careful. Anyone can type anything onto a screen. And you do need to have some sort of physical attraction. But I think friends before lovers is the best way to go. Relationship will be a lot stronger!! You go girl, just be careful.

Yes it is possible because I met my husband online. We chatted and emailed each other for 3 months before we met face to face (we lived in the same city).

We have been together for 8 1/2 years, married for 5 years. We also have a 2 1/2 year old son together.

Anything is possible.

It's possible to fall for their personality that they show online. People tend to be more outgoing and put out more online, but not so much in person. I know I'm a lot shyer in person and wouldn't' say 1/2 the things I'm brave enough to online. If the person is honest, then there's a definite chance. I've heard of online success stories before.

However, you may not have that physical chemistry. I think that's important also. Not ALL that matters, but there there should be a balance.

Be careful, there are a lot of nuts online.

Anything is possible but the endurance of the love depends on the face to face meeting and what happens afterwards. Good Luck!

I guess so....the morning radio show I listen to had a "MySpace Wedding". These two people who had never met in person got married....they didn't know what each other looked like before they said their vows, and their first kiss was after the ceremony.....weird, but it takes all kinds...an "each to his own" situation.....here's the link to the web site, and you can look at the "MySpace Wedding pictures... www.kiddlive.com/ShowPics/showpics.html
