Steaua are the only Romanian club to have qualified for the group stage of the Champions League in 3 consecutive years. They won the UEFA European Champions Club Cup in 1986 and won the UEFA Super Cup the same year. They have won 2 consecutive Romanian titles and 23 in all. They are currently second in their home league table with 21 points from 10 matches, but trail rival Dinamo Bucuresti by 9 points.
They have an extremely tough draw in the CL group stage and must overcome either Lyon or Real madrid to advance to the knockout.

Steaua Bucuresti is the most successful team in ROMANIA, winning the Romanian league on 23 occassions.
many player from this club make up the national team, Gheorghe Hagi was one of the players who used to play for this club.
Steaua Bucuresti is the first team from Eastern European team to win the prestigious European Cup. they beat FC Barcelona of SPAIN 2-0 on penalties after both team were level at 0-0. the final was held in Seville, Spain on 07 May 1986.
this season, they are back in the 2006-2007 UEFA Champions' League after a 10 year absent. they are drawn in Group E along with Real Madrid CF (SPAIN), Olympique Lyonnaise (FRANCE) & Dynamo Kyiv (UKRAINE).

I think they are one of the most underrated teams in the world. They have the potential to be one of the BIG names in Europe. They play real good football.

they are a great team...even though not many people no that team...maybe they dont like football..they have won the champs league..thats a great acheivement..even chelsea havent won the champs league..
