Use Window media player to rip a CD but first change the settings from
On the menu Bar
tools>Options>Rip Music>Rip setting>format>Mp3
and u can aslo set the bit rate higher the bit rate beter the quality

I don't know what program your using to rip CD's, but there should be an option to rip it as an mp3.
