I'm emigrating to Trinidad & Tobago next year. Right now it's a very exciting, innovative, forward-looking country, but the main reason for me going is to join my soulmate - wow, what a woman *sigh*.

I would never emigrate. I know Britain's not the best place to live, but I'm a patriot, and feel that emigration is a form of desertion. If all of the Brits leave, it won't be Great Britain anymore. I will proudly stay on until I die.

No patriot would ever abandon his country.

Born in Ireland, I've lived in several countries, including my university years in the US.
My country of choice is the first and foremost the UK.
I've lived in Italy, France, Spain and travelled to many other countries.
All my friends are here, in the UK.
I speak the language.
I enjoy the changing seasons.
Complain and grouse without being throws into prison (yet!). Eat great food and enjoy wines from all over the world.
Yes, because one day, the Great will finally be put back into Britain.
Amen.

I would choose Greece. It's warm most of the year. I worked there for four years and picked up the language. If you make the effort to speak to people there in their language they can never do enough to help you. The food is excellent as well!

Uruguay. It's a great country where people are pleasant and polite, where motorists stop for pedestrians even when they're not on a crossing, and which is handy for travel to neighbouring countries, especially Argentina.
