Welfare is just enough to keep you voting democrat. You can do better if you flip burgers. Get an education and you can be the fry guy (they get all the chicks!)

I'm not sure that's exactly correct. I hear about cases where moms were making thousands a month but it's usually about some single mom with ten kids living in NY city.
In my state welfare moms with one kid get 3 or 4 hundred a month in food stamps, state provided medical and up to a certain point (not sure), maybe a year they can ask for cash relief which does not exceed the food stamp limit.
Additionally, they are constantly urged to work or enter single parent programs that put the children and mom in a shelter which give free day care and assistance getting to their new job.
I really think the money handed out on the local level for welfare is governed by the state not the feds even though the feds bankroll it.

By people not on it, I assume you mean people who are working...otherwise the answer is quite simple..people not on welfare with no other source of income don't get welfare.
Since when do people on Welfare get more money than people working?
Sure if you work one four hour shift a week or something....but I'm pretty sure full time min wage, no matter where you are is more than the welfare entitlement for a single person. Kids will bump it up significantly, but kids are expensive and should those kids suffer because their mother/father can't/won't work??
And what's up with the gay thing? Who's gay? What do you mean by gay? What are you even responding to?

What are you talking about?, a family of five in food stamps gets about 600 a month and depending on the town or state anywhere from 450 to 600 in funds......hmmmm, thats about 1000 - 1200 a month. If the average worker of a family of five (and we know it has to be more but I am making my point), If one person in that family works fulltime at 40 hours and makes lets say for this example 8.00 per hr, multiply that by 4.3 weeks a month and you get almost 1400 a month.....so unless you arent working or are picking cigarette buts off the floor for 4.00 an hour, I dont understand your question....the average person in family of five makes more than that or double if partner works, so where are your facts.....?

Calling people on *welfare* dumb is narrow minded and prejudiced. While I am completely in agreement that we need reform in our welfare system, those who depend on it sometimes can't help themselves. They may have been fired, come on hard time, etc. You are not the one to judge these people for what you do not understand.
And being gay has absolutely nothing to do with it. Why would you even throw that in there?

You've obviously never been on welfare. Its actually just enough to make sure they stay poor.
With Pres Clinton's reforms at least they were forced to get an education so they could pull themselves out of poverty.

stupid!!!! y u talking down on people who 4 some reason or the other can't make it on their own.maybe the father left,injury,or maybe they just feel so low.... have u been in either of these situations?? thats what i thought, y don't u ask someone who is in this welfare thing

Because the liberals are buying their votes. You can't do that with a working-man's salary. You must offer them more.
