Omega 3 is a fat soluable antioxidant. So you need fat to absorb it and it is in fish oils so you are good there. It is good for you and let me explain why. Many things we do in life makes free radicals, breathing bad fumes, and almost everything else. Every atom wants to be happy in your body with 2 electrons in the outer shell. But negative things in the environment that we are exposed to steals an electron and these atoms are no longer happy. These unhappy atoms cause cancer, heart disease and many other bad things over time. Anyways omega 3 like some other vitamins and minerals puts an electrom in the outer shell making less free radicals. Get it? Got it? Good.

Omega 3 (and 6) are fatty acids that are found naturally in some foods. They help to regulate your cholesterol by increasing the good kind (HDL) and decreasing the bad kind (LDL). They promote healthy blood, basically.

They are added to a lot of foods now, such as Smart Balance margarine and even some brands of tortillas. Naturally, you can get Omega 3 benefits by eating fatty fish, such as tuna or salmon. If you are not a meat eater (or just not a fan of fish) Walnuts are another excellent source. Just try throwing them in our salads or oatmeal or snacking on them throughout the day.
