Do some moderators abuse their power...?

Question

I understand that the job of a moderator on message boards, chat rooms etc. is to control the quality of the content, but some moderators go too far. Some are just opinionated @$$holes who take your posts down if they happen to disagree with you on a matter, and some just get a kick out of having power. Is it just me or is this true?

IT IS TRUE! Also too many people have nothing better to do than be snitches. They think they are helping but are just bitter people who are unhappy. Unless it's a real offense BUT Listen to this. I got a violation EMAIL for asking this question.

"Did you eat a breakfeast of Champions this morning?"

I mean how is that offensive? REDICULOUS

Nobody knows for sure if Y!A has appointed moderators or not. They've never made an official statement. Yip, Y!A has the report abuse system that in itself is way abused. Ya got users out here who think reporting abuse is just part of the game. And customer care? 90% of abuse reports are handled through automation with little or no recourse for appeal.
Just laugh it off and move on. No sense in lettin it get under your skin cuz after all, Y!A is....just a game.

moderators are doing their job. when you join a site like this or any yahoo site you agree to follow the guidelines. if you choose not to follow them then the moderator has every right to report you or do whatever they need to do.

there are no moderators as such on yahoo answers, just normal people like you and me who report abuse to customer care.

its up to customer care to decide what to do with the report.
