Last year I had an abnormal pap and had a colposcopy procedure done and was to be back for a check up in 6 months. I know I need to go back. And plan on it real soon. But what are the odds of it coming back as cancer within a yrs time? Does anyone know?

It is certainly possible. If you have HPV it is relatively certain.

It's pretty likely. I'm 25 and already have had 3 abnormal paps. Luckily nothing came of them. My doc set me up for a year of having paps every 3 months. All clear. That may be something you want to look into and keep on top of!

I had the same exact problem and procedure done. Mine came back after just four months so it is VERY possible. After doing a lot of research my doctor and I found out what was causing my common recurrences...birth control. Once I had my tubes tied and stop taking birth control I have never had a recurrence again and that was over four years ago. You should definitely go back and have a follow up recheck done just to be safe. It is not something you want to mess around with.

I know it is worrying but you had better have a discussion with your doctor. I had abnormal paps for a few years and then they became normal, It does happen but better go to the doctor and check.

THAT JESSYKAT IS OUT OF ORDER AND RUDE AND YOU SHOULD REPORT THE THING FOR ABUSE !!
