Dark circles under your eyes could be caused from lack of sleep but is more commonly caused by allergies. (even if you don't have a runny nose or itchy watery eyes) My daughter has this problem and the only thing that I have found to get rid of it is an AVON product. It is made specifically for dark under eye circles. It cleared hers completely up!!

Vitamin C deficiency is a common cause. Drink orange juice or take a Vitamin C supplement and use a vitamin C serum for the eyes. I use Obagi 5% C serum for eyes and love it. Cellex C makes a similar product.

sleep will help but also warm tea bags reduces the puffness making the circles look less severe, also yellow conciler with a small amount of powder one shade lighter than your regualar shade will hide it well. if you wear eye shadow which brightens your eye shade it will take away from the under eyes as well. keeping your skin well mositerized and getting enough sleep will reduce the circles over time. figure out ways to multitask at night to get to bed earlier. if there are shows u watch late at night tivo or video tape them and watch them the next day earlier, you get through them faster (fast fwding commericals) and not have to stay up late. :) ive delt with dark blue circles my entire life and i know i have to get myself into bed earlier and get more sleep to reduce them. Clean and clear also makes a good stick cream that reduces and mosturizes!! good luck!

Actually, contrary to my initial thought that dark circles are caused by liver dysfunction, I checked my references and found that I was mistaken. Dark circles are caused by poor blood circulation through the kidneys causing them to become hard and tight. This is a result of a diet of dense foods, animal protein, hard salty foods, eggs, shellfish, and excessive amounts of hard baked flour products and nuts.

A diet rich in whole grains, beans, and moisture rich vegetables will what you need to relax the kidneys. Also drink plenty of water.

The reason the circles are perceived to be caused by lack of proper sleep is because your kidneys are impaired and therefore leaving you unable to receive adequate rest.

wear concealer to hide them (but that doesn't get rid of them). Dark circles under your eyes mean that you're tired. Get some more sleep and stay active.
