Not in the mainline cinemas, you can drink in bars attached or you can take in your soft drinks. Then again it's dark in there if you were to sneak in a few cans nobody would really mind

Last time I went to the movies in the UK there was a bar right next to the door to go into the theatre. I can't remember if we were allowed to take the drinks in or not.

Not sure about the UK, but there are plenty of cinema's here in Texas you can drink at :)

In UK cinemas you are not allowed to bring outside food in.
But if you bring it in in you're bag, and dont make a noise, no one will bother.
You'll get kicked out though if you get caught.

i dunno how it is in UK, but in Ukraine you can drink it freely. and it's a pleasure to do so :)
