its possible. Most basement apartments aren't well sealed, which makes them damp and musty...which is a definite cause for sinus problems. If you get yourself a de-humidifier, the problem should be rectified in a few weeks. The other thing is, if you have a cross-draft with your windows (and it isn't rainy or damp outside) that can help to make your apartment a better place to live.

Basements are typically more humid and consequently more prone to mold than other parts of the house. Both of these things could be causing sinus problems. You can try using a dehumidifier, but you would probably be better off moving to an apartment above ground.

It could! Mold and mildew could be the problem. If I'm around molds and mildew I always have problems with my sinus. You should see your doctor and let him know this problem is getting worse. If it is the cause, you should look for another place to live. Take care.

Is your apartment damp or musty? This could very well be causing your problems. Is there mold or mildew present? A cause of allergies, and possibly, of your problems. Is there carpeting in your home? This, too, could cause allergies and increase your sinus problems.

It probably is especially the mold spores being in a basement like that. It seems that the bacteria never goes away because of the moisture down there.

Dampness is most likely. You need a dehumidifier. A must for basement apts. It could also be mold, mildew, dust etc..... But my guess it isn't your sinuses.

it can be...living in the basement you get a lot of dust and pollen blown into apt. Also if you are near the furnace or laundry room it may aggivate your condition if the ventilation system is poor.
