Yeah, pretty good question. Every great western philosopher has thought about it.

After my readings, I presumed that we are living on earth for ethical improvement/development. I take Ethics as being the practice of good; and the idea of good is: do what makes to the majority well. But what makes to the majority well is the interesting and philosophical point of discussion. Every Ethics theory will propose something which is different from others; but all of them try to say the same thing.

I won't get into this issue 'cause it's not our "aim" here. But I think what I've said here is enough to comprehend my point brought up on the question.

Thank you for questioning that!

The realisation that " we the people are just like dolls there is nothing to aim in our life simply living and going back tomud. What is the use. " ... .... comes only after thinking over deeply, many times, in a calm and relaxed manner !
Logic does not seem to help any further. But something in us tells us that there could be a good reason. This something is the intuitional aspect of the mind, which does not follow the logical dictates ! At this point, quite a few people "choose" (actually choicelessly!), to trust the 'learned' or religious or even just trustworthy persons and go on with a kind of blind belief or faith !
There are a few others who do not wish to give up. It is the perseverance of these 'die hard' that leads to look out for a deeper search (spirituality). Now, if a person is ready to look at the possibility that there could be deeper levels of perception beyond the sense organs, then the only logical place to look is inwards, using the self-awareness, keeping it very alert, consciously switching off the mind, even intuitions and just opening up with pure awareness ! Once the perception level deepens, then every question fundamental to / regarding our life becomes clear ! Logical answers are not of much use because the very level of perception with logical view may not be able to sustain the explanation !

Well, I don't mean to preach but it might be worth your while to have some faith. Faith seems to provide a lot of answers to the questions that I look for. Your question seems to show that you don't have any beliefs about life after death. That would definately make life feel like a waste of time. Maybe explore some different churches or faith institutions in your area. I am sure that you will find your answer there!

I don't believe we were put here for a particular purpose other than to just plain exsist and see what happens more or less. I highly doubt our creator put us here to constantly bow down and worship him all the time. That's pretty insane for anyone to think that. I can understand some giving thanks and prayer to God occassionally, but by far not the number one REASON we were put here. That would make for one arrogant god now wouldn't it ?
It may sound silly, but sometimes I think we were put here as somewhat of an ultimate test...of will, evolution, humanity, etc.....to see how far humankind can actually evolve and improve itself time and time again. Cleansing itself over and over from all the imperfections and viruses that self destruct us.
BTW, this was a fun thought provoking question. I could go on and on, but gotta get back to work..lol...Thanks !

We are all just insignificant specks in the life of the universe. It is how we live our short time on this planet that is important. Be happy, dont hurt your fellow man, and be positive. Dont despair. I suggest you find a book called 'Dont sweat the small stuff, and it's all small stuff' to put things in perspective. One suggestion is imagine yourself at your own funeral. What would people be saying about you and your life.
