we were laying in bed last night and my boyfreind says " so i got offered a position in the ER " ( hes a nurse already and the pay apprently is no different then what he is getting now ) i have been watching ER on tv and omg i DONT want him to take it!

i couldnt think of anything to say so i asked if he had time to think about it. he said yes. i asked him if we could talk about it later today. he said ill get back with you on it on saturday.

i dont want him to take it, he has funny hours as it is. at the same time i dont want to upset him. we have such a history and i love him so much and want him to be THRILLED with his life. isn't there some way to he can have that without THIS job?

what would you do?

Be supportive and be there for him. A job is a job and if it is what he loves let him do it. It will get a better place in that job somewhere down the line that does pay better! Give him a chance!

You sound a little selfish to me. You should ask him if that is what he really wants. Taking away something that is important to your partner for selfish reasons can cause him to feel like you are not supportive and that you are smothering his dreams or chances at accomplishing his dreams. Not because he would start there with the same pay does not mean he might not advance later. It might be a better way to start moving upward. Think clearly about what you are saying. You can cause a problem in your relationship for not being supportive of him. Tell him how you feel, but let him know that if that is really what he wants, then you will support him. Good luck.

Don't be selfish he is thinking of the future no matter how you feel he is building a solid foundation. You can't stop eating or buying goods. You need a future. He loves his job be glad. Do yourself a hobby visit friends and so forth make your life too worth while.

Keep on mind that "ER" is just a tv show with a lot of stuff thrown in for dramatic effect. It's not real.

If he wants this job then you should not hold him back from it. If you cant handle it then tell him that and leave the relationship.
