For those who think the Exorcist is scary... I did the exact same thing young Linda Blair did in one scene (except mine was from laughing so hard).
IT was not scary - that film was so lame. Read the book, you'll all enjoy IT more.
Wolf Creek was not scary - it was plain sick.
Popularly, it would seem that Jack Nicholson in The Shining was the scariest film ever (from the recent TV series "The 100 Scariest Films").
Personally for me...any of the original Hammer Horror films. The Wickerman is my all time favourite, followed by the House of Wax. The originals, not those crappy cheesy American remakes.

My personal favourite scary film is An American Werewolf In London followed by A Nightmare On Elmstreet 2 (my favourite of the 7)...Ooo and definitely Polterguist!!

Probably some under ground home made movie, where the makers actually kill someone for real. A bit hard to get hold of though.

Good god 'The Evil Dead' i watched it while under the influence (not a good combination) back in my 'bad girl' days and ended up havin to sleep in bed wit ma mum for a week!! At 19!!! Not such a bad girl after all, lol
