On the vox pop slots which were being shown on the BBC yesterday there was a white woman defending his views, albeit briefly, and Rod Liddle (journalist) was backing his views on BBC News this morning. Just thought I'd point this out.

I in easy words had a speedy google in this and it style of feels this guy predates the muslim faith by skill of utilising one hundred seventy years. the two way, i come across the object in easy words as marvelous as you do for many motives. get rid of the terrorist communities and in easy words communicate with regard to the muslim faith from that's suited factor and you will discover that adherents are limited in cutting-edge-day mentality. that's generally the muslim faith would not strengthen with the situations. Any great scientist muslim at that element could have been called irreligious i'm particular. Couple that with the shown certainty that i've got have been given by skill of no skill heard of any technological advances or great discoveries of technologies from this guy and that i'm left quite puzzled as to what purpose the BBC has for publishing one among those narrative.

I watched a debate on this on BBC world. Your minister should be commended for having the balls for calling things as they are. It is ridiculous that a person could think that they have to cover their face whilst having a meeting.

As a Liberal who supports difference, I think some Muslims are becoming intolerant to other people's views. The simple message is if they can not take the sensitivities of host countries into consideration then the door is open to them to leave.

I'm a white British person and I agree with him 100%. These women walking around in black with those hideous things over their faces give me the creeps. There is no way I could have a frank conversation with someone whose face I couldn't see.

As for "sensitivity" they don't show it towards us why should we show it towards them. **** being PC!

Is it biased or is it people don't care enough to defend him like muslims care to defend themselves.

Who exactly is stopping people from coming to Mr. Straws defense?????

BTW, there are MUSLIMS standing up for him saying his comments are understandable and that most of the protests should have been banned because they advocated violence.

Jack Straw is allowed to exercise his right to free speech and make his views known but it isn't his right to say if someone is dressed inappropriately - those women choose to wear the veil and should be allowed to continue to exercise their right to do so.
This is a free country - or so I thought, and we are told to embrace our right to be who we want to be and accept other cultures.

We wouldn't ask a cross dresser to dress in clothes suited to their gender so why should we expect these women to remove their veils.
I think there is an element of fear here and that is fueled by the minority of "radicals" who commit horrific acts and this makes us wary/ suspicious of anyone different.

I agree with you.The BBC is one of the most bias channels going. None of their reporting is fairly presented! The BBC receives a large sum of money from the government,so who is controlling it?
As for our voices,it appears we have lost them!! Perhaps its because the minute we open them, we are branded racist!!!!
Their are many in the country that are too blind or ignorant to see what is happening right in front of their eyes!!
Seeds are being sown ,and sooner or later,we will reap the rewards!
As for Jack Straw, about time someone spoke out!! Good on him!!
