what a moron to pay for a peice of crap chair used on a cheap science fiction stage back in the 60s. :P

im not sure who bought or the price... but there is someone out there that wants to be able to say they have it... people will buy anything

Bidding on the chair started at $80,000 and the final price of $150,000 exceeded its estimated value of $100,000. In all, 29 bids were placed on the chair.
It now seems probable that Paul Allen was the buyer of Kirk's chair in the 2002 auction. The chair, from which Kirk led his crew for three seasons of exploration and battle, will be on display when the Science Fiction Museum opens.
